The Pete Store, an East Coast Peterbilt dealer group, has opened its Asheville, North Carolina facility to serve as a base for First Response Team of America (FRTA) during the ongoing relief efforts in the wake of Hurricane Helene.
FRTA is a nonprofit that specializes in rapid deployment of specialized equipment and skilled personnel for relief and recovery operations in the wake of disasters. They provide road clearing, debris removal, emergency infrastructure support, and more.
"By providing our Asheville facility as a base of operations, we hope to contribute to their ability to reach affected communities and provide critical aid." said Greg Arscott, President at The Pete Store.
FRTA Founder, Tad Agoglia, took to social media saying “We are launching a massive operation to help isolated communities in the mountains of North Carolina, and they desperately need us. These are God’s people, humble and hard-working, the kind who would never hesitate to help if we were in need. Now it’s our turn to show up for them. I don’t usually ask for help in this way, but this time, I have to. We need your help—now more than ever. Deploying trucks, heavy equipment, and the skilled operators to run them isn’t cheap, and without the diesel to fuel our efforts, we simply won’t be able to reach these people in time. Every moment counts.”
